 && a lonely lunch
« Thread Started on Aug 14, 2007, 12:43am »

Just great, this is what I get for talking back, Riddle thought to himself as he took his place in the long lunch line. He had talked back during history and was sent to the principals office to receive a long lecture on respect, which he of course ignored. He rolled his eyes and shifted his weight. He was surprised how fast the line moved, but sadly when he reached the food there was only a few items left which looked unmentionable. Riddle opted for a vitamin water and banana that didn't seem to have many bruises. He payed for his 'meal', if you could call it that, then moved on to scouting for a seat.

Sadly he couldn't find any eats available, so he moved tot he outside seating. He was happy that it was sunny today and not that hot, but it didn't seem many people took advantage of the day so only a few tables were filled. Riddle took a seat at an empty table, he really didn't mind sitting by himself, plus he was to bored to find his friends at the moment.

Today riddle wore a pair of gray skinny jeans that had a hole in the knee, a bright yellow shirt with an old brown vintage jacket that he could've done without. He also had a pair of black pointy shoes which he thought were comfortable and almost like slippers. His hair had actually took to being combed and wasn't very frizzy but still curly.

He sighed looking at his small lunch again then sighed, he was hungry and this was probably not the most filling. "Oh well," he shrugged to himself pushing back his bangs before beginning to peel the banana eating it slowly, like it was going to be enough to fill him up.

Roxi clutched the big bag of McDonalds in her hand as she glanced around for a familiar face to eat lunch with. She had just gotten back from a lovely visit to the dentist. Hah, lovely was just such an overstatement. The reason she hadn't ate her lunch yet was she hated eating alone--it was also why she had bought extra. She got a lonely feeling and lonely feelings just weren't cool in her book. Brushing her brown hair out of her face, she spotted Riddle. Her face lit up and walked over him.

Today, she had dressed a bit more casual than she usually did. A white t-shirt with 'music is my religion' over a black tunic tank and a pair of skinny jeans. She'd paired the rest of her clothes with a pair of red patent leather pointed flats. She decided she'd rather be her natural height today. She'd pulled some of her hair back out of her face while the rest of it curled aboundlessly down her shoulders. She loved her hair. It was the one thing besides her legs where her vanity kicked in. Roxi probably would have worn something short if she hadn't been going to the dentist. Today her style had an 80s vintage feel to it.

The one thing everyone knew about Roxi was that her fashion tastes varied and stayed the same. Generally, she wore something short but one day it could be a sixties inspired mod dress or a short skirt with a grunge influence. Grinning to herself, she skipped over towards him. "Hola m'dear." Her eyes caught the side of his tray. "That doesn't look very...delicious...how about some McD's instead?" She raised the bag and sat down next to him. "I hear it's extremely fattening but worth the eating."

"Since I am hungry I will have the deep fried fat," he smiled snatching the bag from her hands. He greeted Roxi with a hug then sat at the table setting down the red, white and yellow bag. He was quite happy that he had someone to sit with, especially someone that had some meaning in his life.

Riddle looked at her with big eyes and patted the seat beside him. Then he suddenly began to dig through the bag. Ussually he wouldn't enjoy eating a meal prepared three hours before you ordered it, but he would make an exception for today. "As you can tell I'm hungry," he said pulling out a box containg chicken nuggets. "Oooh, how'd you know I love chicken nuggets?! Where were you earlier?" He noticed that Roxi was gone in some of his later classes, but he was also trying to be nice as he dug through food that he didn't buy.

Yes, Roxi wasn't much of a fan of McDonalds but it had been on her way back in so she'd stopped and grabbed some. Sitting together, it wasn't rare that they got odd looks because they were so different looking. Everyone always seemed to judge based on apperance. It sickened her the way they thought that she was one way when they didn't even know her. A grin graced her face, "I have my ways such as taking guesses and then not taking guessings and already knowing."

"Dentist. My mouth is in tiptop shape according to him." He was a creepy dentist too boot. She couldn't be sure but she thought he'd hit on her a few times. It was awkward to say the least. Roxi couldn't wait to get out of there and the moment she had she'd let out the biggest sigh of relief. Digging through her purse, she found her Dior sunglasses and perched them on top of her head. "Pass me the fries and nobody will get hurt." Roxi loved potato anything. Stretching her legs out, she smiled at him. "So, what're the plans for today?"

"I guess you do," he shrugged. Riddle could feel a few glares come their way but didn't do anything about it. It was in his mellow not giving a crap attitude. Plus, he didn't need to be getting in fights, he already had a record of speaking up in class. He shuddered hearing about the dentist; scraping teeth with a metal utensil wasn't his idea of fun.

He handed over the fries as he dug his teeth into the fried chicken bite. He never did know why they called them chicken nuggets, maybe it was because it was just a nasty mix of chicken parts. He almost didn't want to know. "I think I may be just hanging around the house," he shrugged, not really knowing what he was doing. His parents were going to Paris for the weekend, taking his siblings with them. so he was going to be stuck in the house, taking pictures of the empty hallways.

Roxi on a general basis ignored the stares but there was someone who just kept staring and didn't know when to quit. "God, do they ever quit?" Believe it or not but Roxi wasn't in the best mood to be stared at constantly. It took her a lot fo to complain or get angry if she was having an okay day. Not so much today. Her mouth was sore from all the poking and the prodding. "I don't know why but their staring is irking me today for some reason." Taking a bite out of the fries, her brown eyes looked over at him and she gave a light smile. "Anyways...."

"Oh. Well, my dad's going to be in Los Angeles this weekend if you want to watch some movies tonight at my house you can. I'm even going to attempt to pop popcorn again." Roxi was notorious for being a bad cook. It was probably why she survived on fast food and microwave warming food. Of course, she also had this bad habit of burning even microwavable food. "Or whatever but yeah." She shrugged. Running a hand through her hair, she took a bite out of her fries. As usual she was completely clueless about the fact that her boyfriend wasn't really middle-class and that he was extremely rich. How he managed to pull this off was beyond anyone--for those that knew of his reality.

"Never, it's like we're circus freaks," he said with a blank expression, staring outwards. Then he turned his head to his girlfriend and smiled. "But it's probably because we're cool," he joked. Riddle didn't really mind the stares, he got them enough with Roxi not around, so he had slowly grown immune.

He went to grap another chicken nugget when he realized he had finished them off. He pouted a little bit, then sighed and stole a fry from Roxi. "Oh, why don't you come over to my house, where I can actually make you something edible," he said putting his arm around her. Riddle didn't realize what he had said, but right now he just smiled thinking about the last time Roxi had attempted to make popcorn. The house smelt awful afterwards. Unlike her he could make a pretty good meal. If he had the recipe he could ussually make it, he just never really showed his talent of cooking.

She raised an eyebrow in mock suprise at Riddle, "you cool? I doubt it." Her lips then curved into a slight smirk, "now me? I've always been cool." Laughing lightly, she brushed her hair out of her way. Stupid hair. Roxi took a bite of the fries and ate them happily. Fattening french fries from McD's were the best in her book. Of course almost any sort of food was her favorite. She pouted a bit when he stole a fry from her but rolled her eyes a few seconds later.

"Okay, your house it is then." That was when Roxi realized that she had never been to his house. She'd never met his parents either. "Am I riding with you because I have no idea where you live?" The brunette furrowed her brows. The five foot seven doll had no idea where he could possibly live. She could still feel the eyes staring through her and she tried to ignore them. Roxi understood the whole they looked like complete opposites things but jeez, were that they fascinating to the rest of the world?

He looked at her awkwardly then squeezed her. "How dare you," he said pretending to be offended by the insult. He couldn't stand this way very long and released her with a smile on his face. He was starting feel slightly sick from the food so he stopped eating. His body wasn't used to much cheap fried food. Riddle had to look away from the bag for a moment feeling as if he was going to throw up, but he knew he was just fooling himself. He could keep it down.

"Kay, how 'bout I just give you a ride to my house after school?" he asked curiously. "Oh, my parents won't be home." Riddle smiled at her, slowly he was realizing what he had said. And it hit him like a lightning bolt Roxi was going to see that he really wasn't normal. He didn't frown but he looked away from her for a moment. He was come over with mixed emotions. He still wanted her to come over but he didn't know what she would say about him being rich. He looked back to her as not be suspicious with a smile back on his face.
